Quality Red/Kashmiri Chili Powder : Quality Red/Kashmiri Chili Powder
Quality Turmeric Powder : ½Teaspoon
Quality Garam Masala/Sambar Powder : ½ Teaspoon (optional)
Asafoetida : 1 Pinch
Oil : 1 Tablespoon
Salt : To taste.
Cut 2-3 Idlies into small cubes.
Crumble the rest of Idlies and mix both.Kids may love more crumbled idlies. Left to to you. This is a flexible recipe.
In a pan heat oil on slow flame and add mustard seeds, chopped curry leaves and Asafoetida till they crackle.
Add the Idlies and mix.
Keep mixing and sprinkle the Chili & Turmeric Powder and masala powder.
Mix till all ingredients are mixed well. Should take less than 1 minute.
Your fried Idlies are ready.
Note: if the leftover Idlies have been stored in the fridge from previous day, take out and keep for some time.
You may add thinly diced Onions as an tasty option. Add before adding the idlies. Saute till they become brown, then add the diced-crumbled idlies mix.
