Puttu Podi

Used in the preparation of Puttu, that consists of coarsely ground rice, grated coconut and water. It is often spiced with cumin, but may have other spices. Basically, rice powder and grated coconut steamed in layers in a cylindrical vessel. This a prime breakfast item in Kerala and in Sri Lanka.
